Per-Ankh

The House of Life

Welcome to Per Ankh!

Per Ankh - House of Life. In Ancient Egypt most temples had a so called 'House of Life', where records of all kinds were kept; mathematics, medicine, astronomy, geography, law and the interpretations of dreams. This was also the place where priests and scribes were trained.

These pages are for
historical information about Ancient Egypt, mostly its religion, deities and temple life. Also featured are articles about women and their life in the ancient days, Creation Myths, Festivals and the Wisdom Texts.

Nowadays many of the links below go to my mirror site
