The Egyptian Godstheir main centers of worship |
|
The Egyptian gods seem elusive as well as very real. They shift form and shape, they associate and blend with each other and borrow each otherŽs traits, names and titles. But the underlying essence is there - the Divinity the ancients percieved and lived with every day, was One and the Same. Divinity showed itself not only in a multitude of names of gods, but also in every aspect of life. As there was no word for 'religion' in their language, Life itself was Divine and God was everywhere. That is why, when we talk about Egyptian religion, it would be right to call it monolatrous.
