Trip to Egypt, April 2005The Westbank 6 - Deir el BahriThe Upper Court![]() Passing through the gallery... ![]() ...brings you into the upper court, recently opened for visitors. Each of these niches held statues of Hatshepsut. ![]() A portal standing now by itself just as you enter the court. Two Heru falcons on each side of the pillars wearing the Doublecrown. ![]() Directly in front of the portal, the shrine of Amun-Re. There are other small chapels on this terrace, all of them closed for vvsitors. ![]() In the left hand corner of the court is a space for storing finds from here. ![]() Zooming in on a shelf brings these glyphs in sight. ![]() Fragments on rocks lie here and there. ![]() So much more to see but time is short. A second visit is a must. A very good page about Deir el Bahri. More Photos |
