Trip to Egypt, April 2005

The Westbank 3:
The Temple of Het-Hert, the reliefs inside.

Some of these reliefs are quite unusual and Iīm sorry that I canīt explain them properly. Probably it has to do with them being Ptolemaic, a period when hieroglyphs went through some inventiveness.

In this room (not sure which one) the reliefs follow the regular mode of depicting
Pharaoh presenting offerings to the deities.

Another of the rooms - the back wall. Pharaoh making offerings to Wesir.

On the left wall, Djehuty is recording events - but which ones?
See the childlike figure perched on top of a croook, and the lion seated on a stand before Wesir?

On the right wall, opposite, this is the Henu barque of Sokar being carried by three little priests.

The baboons greeting the sun in the form of a winged scarab - Khepri.

Above the exit, this fourheaded ram - Banebdjedet. Not often depicted.

Wen we emerged from the temple, this bird of prey was soaring high up.
A falcon? A hawk?
