Trip to Egypt, April 2005The Luxor Temple 4The Court of Amenhotep and beyond.![]() The massive pillars in the Processional Colonnade are over 19 m (62 ft 3 in) tall. ![]() The so called Sun court of Amenhotep III and the Hypostyle Hall behind which is seen to the right the apse for the Roman cult of the emperors. ![]() The western part of the court. (I think itīs interesting to note the difference in eastern and western dress style of the two women in the picture ;)) ![]() Pharaoh in Atef crown bringing cattle for offering. I think this relief is from the 'Chamber of the Divine King'. ![]() "An offering which the King gives.... thousands of bread, thousands of beer..." Though not optimum in quality, this photo is interesting, showing a list of offerings. Itīs from the same room as above. (I think.) ![]() A view of the temple area from outside the precinct. Roman remains in the foreground. ![]() The sun sets behind the Western mountains, giving us the same view as the ancients looked at. More Photos |
