Trip to Egypt, April 2005

Cruising the Nile 3: Further South

While some travellers enjoy sunbathing and the little pool on topdeck...

...others prefer the shade and cool drinks.

Towards evening we approach the locks at Esna.
Ships waiting to pass through, some with fanciful decor.
Note the tiny little boats to the left, these are peddlers approaching.

Yelling for attention, they throw their wares on board, commerce must be done
quickly before night falls. You have to be determined not to feel forced to buy anything.

Sunset over the Nile.

Next morning we have come much further south. The land shows more desert and itīs warmer. Next stop: Kom Ombo
