Trip to Egypt, April 2005Cruising the Nile 1: Setting Out Gliding on still waters out of Luxor, the mountains on the West Bank grow smaller....  A felucca sailing in the faint, warm breeze outside its village.  Villages along the banks probably look very much the same today as the did in ancient times. 
See the steel wires sticking out on top of the buildings? If a building isnīt finished, you donīt have to pay tax for it...  Some shorelines are lush with vegetation and palm groves...  .... others are barren, the desert coming close. |
