Aswan

We didn´t take many photos in Aswan but spent the energy on Philae instead. Here´s something though.


Harbour at Aswan. The strange tower is the Oberoi Hotel at Elephantine Island,
an architecture not always appreciated.


Oppsite where our ship is resting - the Tombs of the Nobles from the Old & Middle Kingdom
are seen like little dark dots in the hillside.


The ugly hotel at Elephantine has a beautiful garden - another contrast,
also to the desert surrounding the town of Aswan.

The mausoleum of Aga Khan can be seen as a tiny little speck on the desert hill to the left of the leftmost palm tree.


Looking to the right, Kitchener´s Island and the hill where....


...the long row of the Tombs of the Nobles continue.


Strange and beautiful. What are these flowers, i´ve never seen such before.
